Embark on an exhilarating adventure with our Mt. Kenya Day Hike to Mackinders view point 3900Masl via the Sirimon
Route. This thrilling journey takes you through the picturesque landscapes and diverse ecosystems of Africa's secondhighest mountain. Mount Kenya is a favorite for hikers due to its snow-capped peaks, breathtaking scenery, and the challenge it presents.
07:00AM: Depart Nanyuki town for a transfer to Mount Kenya Sirimon gate.
07:45AM: Upon arrival at the gate we follow the check in formalities and once’s we are done we get a group photo and board our car for another 20mins drive to Old Moses camp also called Judmeier camp at situated at 3,300m asl.
08:20AM: Quick body stretch up exercise and begin our trek our hike. We follow the designated trail that leads to Shiptons camp. We traverse through the heath and moorland led by our mountain guide Charles who will tell you about the flora and fauna surrounding you. During the trek you’ll catch sight of some beautiful birds.
11:30AM: We reach the Mackinder’s valley view point which is at an elevation of 3900m asl. We enjoy a breathtaking view of the main peaks and the roaring sound of Nanyuki river that flows through the Mackinder’s valley.
We will also have our lunch here as we take photos.
1:45PM: We descend down back to Old Moses camp to catch our car for a transfer back to Nanyuki.
05:30PM: Drop off in Nanyuki town marking the end of our adventurous.
